Farid Antoun  ( 1898 - 1957 )

Farid Kabalan Antoun was born in Ehden on the 26th of september 1898. He went to "Mar Youssef" school in Zgharta and in 1917, he studied "Law" under the supervision of Sheikh Amine Ezzedine and graduated in 1920.

Here are some dates in the life of Farid Antoun:

1919: he was one of the founders of  "Ehden Social Welfare Association"

1919: elected member of the municipal council.

In 18 August 1922, Farid Antoun was nominated Mukhtar. He was nominated at the head of the scouts "Sabbakat Al-Arz" Ehden section, this organisation was founded by Youssef Al-Saoudah.

1925: he got the license to publish a newspaper he called "Sada Ashimal". The first newspaper issue was released on the fourth of July 1925.

1934: member in the executive council of the Mouhafazat of Tripoli.

1942: president of the union of the North Lebanon Newspapers.

17 January 1957: death of Farid Antoun.
