Saydet Al-Marahem  (The Mother of Mercies) Miziara

At the entrance of Miziara, the Virgin Mary stands stretching out her arms and giving her blessings to the people and the land.

The sanctuary of the Mother of Mercies is the embodiment of the childhood dream of Mr. Marcel Chaghoury from Miziara. In 1979 he built the sanctuary which was consecrated by Bishop Antoine Jbeir on September 6, 1992.

Guarded by two angels, its entrance leads to a passageway at the side of which a crib, a representation of Christ’s Baptism and statues of the twelve apostles keep you company.

Near the modern church, a workshop for girls, an old people’s home and reception halls were established. On top of the fort, a marble statue of the Virgin Mary is carved out of the rock.
